The research campaign was carried out from May 23 to June 1, 2024. During this period, an archaeological exploration was carried out on the seabed, covering an area of 461,307 square meters, equivalent to more than 40 professional soccer fields. This survey revealed that the area where the wreck of the San José Galleon is located has more concentrations of archaeological material, in addition to the main body where the greatest amount of evidence of the structure of the ship and the cargo it was carrying is found. Among the findings are structural components of the ship (an anchor, rings, a possible nail) and objects of daily use (bottles, glass bottles and a bedpan).
