Bogotá.-With 71.6% of the Pension Reform approved, the Seventh Committee of the House of Representatives adjourned and stipulated that the next discussion will be called by the Secretariat.

Precisely, 68 of the 95 articles included in the report that began to be discussed since last Tuesday in the third debate, after the procedure that already took place in the Senate of the Republic, have already been approved.

It is worth mentioning that the threshold of 2.3 minimum wages has already been approved, leaving on record the proposition that asked to raise it to four wages, as President Gustavo Petro wanted.

Precisely, the propositions that sought to increase it to four, as the head of state wanted, and to 2.5 minimum wages, as proposed by another congressman, were put on record for discussion in the Plenary of the House of Representatives.

It is worth mentioning that, at the beginning, the Government proposed a threshold of three minimum wages, but later, in the Senate Plenary, after an agreement with the Liberal Party, it was reduced to 2.3 minimum wages.

Above this level, as is known, pension contributions will have to go to private funds, which, according to the AFP's own calculations, will imply a reduction of more than 70% in the flows they receive up to now.

There are still pending issues such as the articles that hand over the administration of the Contributive Pillar Savings Fund to the Banco de la República and what the investment policy would be, as well as what is related to the effective date of the pension fund.
